About SarahSarah was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from Doss High School, she attended the University of Louisville and received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Master of Arts in Teaching. She taught social studies at the middle and high school level for sixteen years in JCPS where she was known as "Ms. Cole" for much of her career. During that time, she completed her Rank I in School Leadership. She also sponsored several clubs, coached teams, and held many leadership roles in her schools. Through that work, Sarah gained experience and insight into how to best support students. She understands curriculum needs and challenges in the classroom; has helped develop school policies and budgets; has experienced the impact of state and federal education mandates. Most importantly, Sarah knows firsthand what our schools need to provide all students with the best educational experience possible.
Sarah lives in Middletown with her husband, two daughters, and four dogs. She is an active volunteer at her daughters' JCPS elementary school where she served on the SBDM and continues to work with the PTA. She enjoys being with her family, traveling to historic sites and Walt Disney World, and attending concerts/musical theatre.
